There are four general steps and two general options to start your internet business.
You can either:
1) Create your own product or
2) Promote Someone Else’s Product or Service
I'll go into these and explain the steps required to make this happen.

First and foremost, although there are internet marketers who make thousands $$$ on Adsense income I wouldn't recommend relying solely on Adsense for your main source of income.
When I say solely I mean – relying on purely Adsense as your main source of revenue. It's always better to spread your earnings across different nest eggs (i.e. selling other products whether it be yours or someone else's).
To build a website and generate a long lasting Adsense revenue from it I'd recommend you first consider the architecture of your site. It's as simple as having a buidling plan before building the actual site itself.
Why?
If you build a crappy site, chances are you will be nowhere to found in the search engines (unless you are paying $$ for traffic to your site). If we are aiming for some free organic traffic to our sites, we need a strategy or a guide on how to create great listings for your sites in the search engines which would generate Free traffic to your site/s.

Everything in life must start with a belief. If you want to be able to earn money at home, it is paramount that you believe your goals are attainable; if you do not have a belief to succeed you will not!

3. Rinse and repeat
Some of the most Profitable niches on the internet are…
1. Work from home, i.e. eBay, clickbank, internet marketing, MLM etc.
2. Health and fitness, i.e. dieting, exercise, body building etc.
3. How to manuals in every popular topic, i.e. computer skills, getting a better job, education, investment, gambling, etc.
Match your expertise up with one or even more of the above markets. Create products based around those markets. Drive traffic to your website and earn money at home. Encourage affiliates to help you by offering them a percentage of each sale.
